Choosing a show halter

I have purchased several western style show halters on ebay and not one has been usable. Most are made in India and are proportioned incorrectly (small nose band, ridiculously long sides). If you want a western show halter, save yourself much time, frustration (and ultimately money) and buy one directly from a person that sells show equipment for minis (it would be even better if you could catch a dealer at a show and have them fit your mini in person...but that isn't always possible). I've heard very good things about Ozark Mountains - http://www.minitack.com/ Christine

Showing a stallion

It sometimes helps to use Vicks on a stallion's nose to prevent him from smelling the other horses and acting up. But don't put it on and then show in the sun, it can sunburn his nose, due to the oil in the Vicks.
